    biggebruv ,
Rip the Movie to the HD using DVDFab HD Decrypter or use AnyDVD's ripper function to rip to HD. Then process those files through Shrink

Shrink has not updated in almost 4 years but the transcoding function still beats most of the other transcoders for quality.

    DVDFab HD Decrypter: http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm

    AnyDVD(21 Day Free Trial):http://www.slysoft.com/en/anydvd.html

Rip w/ DVDFab HD Decrypter 1st then open those files in Shrink. DVDFab HD Decrypter is free and still updated.

There's also AnyDVD which runs on the background removing the copy protection. Not free but has a 21 day free trial. Works w/ most titles and Shrink.
Then there's combo of AnyDVD and CloneDVD which is very good.

True, DvdShrink hasn't been updated in years, but it's still an extremely valid part of my personal arsenal.

I rip with DvdFab Hd Decrypter then Shrink, then burn with ImgBurn. So it's still a very handy addition to the software process of backing up my dvd's.

about a year ago when i was copying some dvds with shrink it would
    rip the movie fine
then burn to nero with no problems

then when i played it in the dvd the last few minutes of the movie started going glitchy. this happened with a few DVDS.

if i copy DVD to the HD then shrink it and burn it with IMGBURN
    will that work?

    What movies?

What blank media do you use?

Is your firmware for your burner up to date?

At what speed are you burning?

Yes, that will work. Rip to HDD with DVDFab HD Decrypter...process through FixVts or VobBlanker...transcode and burn with the DVDShrink and ImgBurn combo.

Sounds like you may have encountered compression errors, that or some dodgy media. Did you have the Quality Settings checked?

    i rememeber it happening with
    SAW
KING KONG which was last year when i tried doing them
i used tevion dvds they alright when recording of tv
i assume it must be a nero problem

the speed was burning at the default setting that dvd shrink has it on.

i never even messed around with the settings thats what was buging me about it happening

That may be encryption errors. The movies mentioned were problematic, especially SAW 3 at the time. Once you have the source ripped with DVDFab HD Decrypter (latest version, http://www.dvdfab.com/free.htm ), use FixVTS in Full DVD to process the files for compliance and then open those files in your transcoder. Like others, I'd recommend better media than tevion.

Like PacMan777 said, most on here would recommend a better media. I normally (like many others here) use the MIJ Verbatim, Taiyo Yuden, or even Sony. Here lately i've had some pretty good luck with some off the shelf Fuji.

5 hours is a bit much unless you have a pretty old pc or are using an eternal burner with 1.1 usb connection.

If that's not the case check and make sure all your drives are in DMA mode not the slow PIO. Here's a guide

I guess "eternal" burners could take an "eternity" to finish a burn.:)
