    Hello all,
I have 13 avi files avge size 177mb (total folder size = 2.23Gb) when I use Nero to burn to DVD 1x avi file becomes 2.98Gb. Is there a way I can get all 13 files onto 1 DVD that will play in a stand alone DVD player??
I would be happy if I could get 3 - 5 files on 1 DVD instead of the average 1 im currently getting.

You can put your avi files onto disc simply by choosing DATA disc in Nero. One note, these files will only work if your stand alone plays them.

You should know this before you make the disc. Your manual should tell you. Something like the Phillips dvp642 is a Divx player. If your player does not, then you will have to convert them to Dvd.

ConvertXtoDVD will do what you wish with good quality and menues but the trial does insert a watermark in the middle of your video and runs at 1/2 speed. Here is a guide for it to look at:http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/vso_convertxtodvd_guide.cfm I have also done 4-1 hour episodes to DVD after encoding with MainConcept, authoring and burning with excellent results. The trial of MC is unlimited and good out of the box but does insert a watermark in the upper corner. May not bother you, though.

Hiya Mistycat, I got myself a copy of convertxtodvd and have been able to convert what im working on but just cant seem to get a succesful burn.

I have used two types of media, and have tryed using Nero to burn the converted files. I have attatched the error log, hopefully someone will be able to help.

    Thanks.

I sent a pm to cougar_ii to check on this thread. As a beta tester for ConvertXtoDVD, you should be fixed right up. All I would be able to suggest is, maybe, try burning at 4x.

    Hi there,

Because the issue only seems to be on the burn portion, let's concentrate on that:

    http://www.digitalfaq.com/media/dvdmedia.htm

Based on this site, RITEKG05 is 2nd class media.

You are burning those at 8x.

I would slow down the burn to 2x for testing, and if ok, bring it up to 4x.

[bold]Mysticat[/bold] was right on the money for that one !

You seem to have the latest firmware on your drive, so that's good !

    Because you are getting these:

Keep your eyes open for v2.0.14 when it officialy comes out.

v2.0.14.130 [bold]ßeta[/bold] came out, and some users found some subtitle bugs, so stick with v2.0.13 for now !

v2.0.14 was released to fix Audio Out Of Sync when we see messages like this in the logs !

Keep us posted on your progress, see if burn slower helps on those media.

I only buy and use Taiyo Yuden.

Verbatim, and [bold]Maxell Made In Japan[/bold] are also top notch quality !

    Hi there,

When I first started out, burning DVD's I didn't know much either.

After reading a few forums, some said that Ritek (RiData) media were good, so I bought some.

I still have a few laying around at home.

I burned one of those yesterday (Media ID: RitekG04)

I burned it at x2.0 only.

Then I did a quality check (PiPo Scanning) and the Quality was 40%

I rarely go under 92%, 93% with my Taiyo Yuden TYG01, TYG02 and TYG03 all burned at x4.0

    My 2 cents !
