hi i upgrade my system from windows me to XP profesional but i ended up having the two how can i delete the old version of windows
since you have already installed xp over your existing os, it is somewhat difficult to delete your original one. I assume that now when you start up, you get a screen telling you to select which os to use, right? If so, do the following: control panel>system>advanced>startup and recover settings Click the edit button, which will open up a text file, and delete the windows me part. Or, to be safer, you can just change the "time to display list..." to one second, then you'll hardly notice it.
also, if you want to instead get rid entirely of ME, and you haven't installed to much on your new OS yet, you can always re-install XP, but this time make sure to do the option of deleting the partition, and re-formatting the HD before it installs. This will wipe out your system, and you will have just XP on it.
