Well to be hounest what the hell is the point? What application really needs 500Ghz??? Really IBM are looking into the next say 20 years. Dont know but at the moment im fine with what i got!
You could have asked, why have a 2 gig CPU 20 yrs ago? There will be applications in the future that will demand such high speed. Don't forget how graphics cards have moved in 10yrs. What were PCs like 10yrs ago? To say you are happy with what you have is a fairly shallow & futile argument. I am taken aback that someone here has said that!
No you misundertsood me. Although of course every one would love a 500Ghz processor i was just pointing out that at the moment with current applications/games 500Ghz would not be needed.
That's the whole point! There are no applications...You really need to find out what R&D labs are for.
