IDE cable

    What type of IDE cable am I supposed to use for a dvd burner and how can I tell what kind I am using right now?

    can use a 80 wire 40 pin cable as same as what your had has. if it is using that cable. standard 40pin cable connectors are all black but on a 80wire 40pin cable 1 end is blue, middle is gray & the other end is black
