i have a external harddrive that can work with both ide and sata hd's it works fine with my ide drives but i have yet to manage using the sata drive does anyone here have any idea what i am doing wrong . any advice would be appreciated.
Are you talking about an external enclosure? What enclosure do you have? I haven't seen one that handles both types of drives, but that sure doesn't mean there aren't any.
Yes, they do exist. I have one too, but have not tried it. It takes some software and mine will connect with usb to the computer, or with a sata cable. A waste of money in my case.If you use the sata adapter required, may as well put the drive inside. That's what I did.
