    Hi everyone,

Well, I am going to buy a new processor for my computer to increase my speeds and performance when ripping and converting DVD's. I would like to hear some thoughts on what processor, brand and model, would be or is ideal for the best, and fastest DVD ripping experience.

I was thinking of buying an AMD Athlon 64 FX-57 processor which has 2.8Ghz and is the FX series of AMD which is created for multimedia and gaming. I need a processor that is less than $1,000. I already have 1GB of RAM memory, and a pretty powerful video card.

I would really appreciate the suggestions and opinions. Thank you very much in advance.

Last time I checked, AMD gave Intel a beating in some benchmarking tests done by CNET. I can remember the models but you are on the right track.
