   I was a true idiot...I have a new question though...What is the screw-like thing taped to the bottom of the matrix mod chip? thanks for any help

   If you mean the washer that comes with the chip and the flasher you need it for your install. Check out http://www.xodus-chip.com/downloads.htm and look at the manual.
