I am buying another DELL DIMENSION 8100. The tower has a fresh install of XP PRO SP 3, IE 9. I do not know what MS email program if any is bundled with it. The issue is I NEED to use IE 6 because of a specific real estate site that uses IE ONLY! The upgrade to 7,8, or 9 is long and complicated with no improvement from a use standpoint. The question is can I remove IE 9 which will roll back to 8 then 7 then 6? The MS mail client that is in use is not an issue.. Or do I need to reload the older XP PRO SP 2 using my DELL CD? This will give me IE 6 and OE 6 as a bundle. Overall this tower is a better tower because of owner upgrades. If I can roll back as opposed to reloading that is what I am after. Any advice welcome.

uninstall ie9 from add/remove programs & should have ie6 left by default.

The current owner installed it, not my choice. I plan to roll back to 6 which matches the DELL CD I have. I need 6 because of a specific real estate site that uses IE ONLY. Upgrading to 7, 8 or 9 for that site is more trouble than its worth. According to the current owner it works well. I will test the tower as is before I add drives or reload the OS if needed or roll back to 6.

Thanks. That is what I thought. The seller is not sure if 7,8, or 9 was installed. I will remove whatever is there until I get back to 6. The icon for each should be different for each. I can always reload the OS, yet again. There are no third party programs installed. I would have to do that anyway.
