I don't like IE, so I only use it when I have to, like on Microsoft Windows Update site because I like to manually update windows because I can't use Firefox. But the last couple of days when I try to go to the site after it checks my computer to see if I have the proper software to use the site, then it goes to the next page where it's suppose to display the express and custom buttons so you can chose what you want to do, but it doesn't. Instead a blue shading completely covers the buttons as well as the entire middle of the page and extends to the end of the page if you scroll down. The rest of the page is fine. I can't manually update windows if there aren't buttons to click, so what do I do? I haven't changed any internet settings, so what going on? Please help.
I use IE6, my windows is legit (pre-install on computer when I bought it), and I tryed System Restore, it didn't work. Any more suggestions?
You can use Firefox for the Windows update site. Use this extension, which will automatically use IE inside FF for the WU site. Also works great for those IE based sites running anything from Windows Media Player. https://addons.mozilla.org/firefox/1419/
@ TomMelee, Thanks for the link, I like the site and it works really well. I will use it from now on, especially if I can't get Windows Update working again. @ Morph416, Thanks for the link, I love IE Tab, but when I use it with Firefox I get the same results as using IE by itself, but thanks anyway. I would still like to resolve the problem with Microsoft Windows Update site, so... any more suggestions?
Hummm,,, the only thing that comes to mind is Net framework. I believe 2.0 is the required version for a lot of MS stuff now. Guess I might just have to peruse the MS tech site on that one.
