My question is this: how are these files created, do I have to create them. Last night I tried burning a movie that was 980 MB long onto a 4.7 GIG dvd, and it told me that my disk didn't have enough space. I used Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD. If any could help I would Appreciate it, thanks.
If you burn the media file in its original format (.avi/.mpg) the dvd player will not read it. The file must be converted to a .VOB along with the necessary .IFOs and .BUPs A .vob is the media that is encoded into mpeg-2, which dvd-roms/players read. Visit this site: http://home.comcast.net/~bbmayo/index.html Go to the guide that is labeled: "AVI to DVD" and download the software that is needed. All of them are free, by the way.
