I am fairly new to dvd burning, but have succesfully copied a few dvd-5 discs. I am now trying to move onto dvd-9 by slimming them down through ifoedit. I have read the guides and searched the forums but am still confused. First off what directories do I need to make, and when doom9 tells me to save often in the process what do they mean? Also in their guide they have something like video_ts.vob in the destination path, but I thought that was suppossed to be a folder not a file. Can someone help with a more thorough explanation on how to use ifoedit? Thanks
I found out the hard way that there are a couple of typos in the ifoedit guide at doom9. It says to load up a VOB file and you can't edit those, stuff like that right? What I do is I make a copy of every file that I rip from the disc in a new folder. That way if I make a mistake I can start over. Now create another new folder(empty), call it Step1 or something. Load up the IFO file that pertains to the VOB files you want to edit. Select your newly created empty folder as the destination when you make your first move. Now check that folder and you should see newly created files. Make sure to copy the missing files(VIDEO_TS.IFO,.BUP,.VOB) to your folder(step 1). Now create another new folder for the next step and so on. Close Ifoedit and reopen it after each step to make sure that you are always working with your latest IFO file. The guide does help even though the errors add to the confusion when you are learning. Good Luck
The files that you must have to make your DVD-R play are: VIDEO_TS.IFO VIDEO_TS.BUP VIDEO_TS.VOB VTS_**_*.IFO VTS_**_*.VOB = as many VOB files that are relevant VTS_**_*.BUP
