I'm having an issue with my sony DRU720a burning dvd's. I've had the drive for about a month now and have made probably somewhere around 35 or 40 dvd copies. Yesterday i was burning and the electricity went off while i was in the middle of the burn. And since i havn't been able to burn anything using Nero. I have the latest firmware on the dvd drive, latest nero, reinstalled windows and nero after this happened. been using the same media but am getting the below error log. I also went to sony's website and got a drive check program and it seems to have an error with that program where it won't finish burning. Here is the nero log

We have a separate section for Nero. I would edit out this post & put it in the correct section of the forum.

I do wish people would read & think before posting!

    Pulsar

BTW the log says illegal disc & that you are burning @ 16x. What media are you using? & slow the burning down to 4x max.

this isn't involving just nero. My burner won't burn using any dvd burner problem. Hopefully someone can help me out on this. It burns fine for cd's.

You never said that in your original post! Again, have you tried slowing the speed down to 4x & what media are you using. If you answer the questions I, or another, may be able to help you!

    Pulsar

PS, have you access to another burner to try?

I brought it back down to 8x from 16x. And it's still having the error.
I used the drive check that sony provides on there website and it won't get past 22% before getting the write error.

Again, slow it down to 4x, memorex media is the most inconsistent media out there, 99.9% of people here do not use them. Verbatim Datalifes are good, from what I read.
