I bought an external Roxio DVD-R/RW drive and it worked fine the first few times. Now, whenever I try to burn a data disc the blank disc ejects immediately with an error message. Here is the log. Please help me.

    Hi kellyt3
    Here's some suggestions for you:
Your firmware is a bit behind - the latest is 1.0C. Here's a link:
    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1517
Turn DMA back on for this drive - probably not part of the problem here but if you ues this drive better to have it in the faster transfer mode-DMA.
    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/260038
Not the best by far and can be hit or miss at best. Better media would be Verbatim or made in Japan only Fuji or Sony. For your drive I would not get ones rated over 8x.
Roxio and Nero don't always play well. You can uninstall Roxio and run the zap (clean tool)
    http://www.softpedia.com/get/Tweak/Uninstallers/Roxio-Zap.shtml
You burn issue looks to be more media and firmware related than your version of Nero. If you use Nero Vision probably better to go down one. Uninstall Nero - run their clean tool and install 7.0.8.2:
    http://www.filehippo.com/download_nero_7_premium/?845
    http://ww2.nero.com/nero7/enu/Nero7_CleanTool.html

Try the abovce and keep us posted - good, bad or otherwise!
