    Hi Shaolyn
Yes you can definitely use a firmware update - the latest is BSOY:
    http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1934

May help with those 16x discs made by Ritek. That's one thing a firmware update does - teaches the new read/write strategies on newer media.

    Nero Version: 6.6.0.8
Nero can use an update to - update to 6.6.0.18. Here are some links.
    Package 1
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/Nero-6.6.0.18_no_yt.exe

    Package 2 (recode & vision)
    http://httpdl1.usw.nero.com/software/Nero6/NVE-3.1.0.21_no_yt.exe

Give that a go and let us know.
