hi upgrade firmware from here http://www.firmwarehq.com/Lite-On/SOHW-1633S/files.html DMA needs to be ON, fix it via this ~ http://www.dvdplusvideo.com/dvdguide005.html if firmware up date doesn't fix this suggests a problem with the drive...getting old now....time for a new drive perhaps not a lot of money now a days...handles the newer fast burning discs a lot better
