Your drives firmware most likely doesn't support these crapy discs. Your laptop has an old burner. You can try to update the firmware but you may need a new burner for today's newer media. http://drivers.softpedia.com/get/FIRMWARE/Nec/Nec-ND-6500A-42x-Firmware-425.shtml http://forum.rpc1.org/dl_firmware.php?download_id=1920 Edit: I may be wrong but are these TDK 16x discs?
update nero 6.6.0.17 ---------------------- Last possible write address on media: 2298495 (510:46.45, 4489MB) Last address to be written: 2286111 (508:01.36, 4465MB) burning too close to outer edge of dvdr ---------------------- Media type: DVD-R Disc Manufacturer: MBI 01 - RG40 get some verbatims or TY ---------------------- Burn process failed at 2.4x (3,324 KB/s) 2.4x is usually +R format never seen a -R burn at 2.4 ??? prolly means writer cant read those disc properly...
