    paste the LAST section of your Nero log - it's in c:\program files\ahead\nero\nerohistory.log. DO NOT post your serial number which begins with '1A21' or similar

    @FlexSurfe -

    - don't use Express, use Burning Rom. Express is too dumbed-down..

    - still looking to check if your firmware is up to date or not. So far i've stumbled onto this thread - not the most flattering remarks about this particular drive - http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/1/179003 - will keep looking

    - you're gonna have to shut much more stuff down as you're running out of memory. But to be perfectly honest 256MB is hust not enough in DVD burning...

    - did you mean to do a multisession disc - no wonder your dvd player can't play the disc

    - your burner doesn't recognise that media. ps while it's on my mind, if you use DVD Shrink, set target size to 4300MB in Shrink's preferences, thus avoiding outer edges of discs, for future burns

    - splat!

    I had the same problem except my sony would not burn dvd-r Nero tech support told me it was a drive from another burning program that was causing the problem. go to nero.com and download the cleantool.zip run the driver-clean tool frist and allow it to disable the drivers that are causing the confict then run the registry checker. This runs very quickly and it may appear nothing has happened reboot the computer and try burning again. It fixed my problem. mine was a driver installed by napster.
