I have been using these Fujifilm DVD-Rs for sometime now. At first when I just entered this world I just bought boxes of ten but when I went to the store the other day I figured i'd save myself a few trips and buy a thing of 50 disks. Now idk if Fujifilm decided to change their dvds when I bought the 50 pack but none of these dvds will work when I try to burn a dvd. I was able to burn fine with the 10 packs. I made sure they were the same kind of dvd-r. But now it just keeps giving me an illegal disk error. Can anyone help me? I have also tried sony dvd-r's too but they don't wanna work either. And I am very sure I have all the same settings on my programs. First I use DVD decripter, then I use DVD shrink to burn the dvd. Heres the log thing: Edit: Is it possible that my dvd burner has died and i need to get it fixed or get a new one? Try updating your firmware http://www.de.nec.de/softwareoverview2.php/id/557 Scroll down until you see your burner, I believe your behind by about 5 updates, current is 1.0B
Thank you very much. I have one more question but I believe it has to do more with other parts of my computer than any dvd writing situation I would become involved in. When I begin to encode a movie the Kb/s goes down to the hundreds and makes it go very slow I think because of the fact there is something or a few things that are draining space from my harddrive little by little. I think this may be because when I look at the space available before I hit backup it is sometimes slowly going down MB by MB. Do anyone of you know what my problem is with the slow Kb/s if its what I think or a different problem and how I can fix it? Also: I try going into the task manager and shutting down some programs to speed it up but I usually end up knocking out the sound and making my computer worse than it is rather than fixing it. Edit: I also think it may be a virus or spyware but my computer usually freezes up before it can end the scanning lol. Another Edit: Now that I try it again it seems that the slowdown is an on and off thing idk what the hell is wrong with it lol i'll figure it out
do a virus scan, and check for adware and spyware. Then defrag. That should help you out a little bit. To really speed things up though, you should look into more RAM. And just so you know, it's completely normal for encoding to start out really fast, then gradually get slower and slower. Don't know why... Are you using DVD Shrink?? Although Shrink's a great program, there are faster ones, such as CloneDVD 2, which do just as good a job encoding.
@Ratpoizen I edited out your Nero serial from the log. You should make sure and remove that before posting. We don't want people stealing it.
