I think this is an interesting issue, that has gained "political" backing. I don't know necessasarily if the politicians' motives are honorable or if they want votes for the upcoming elections. Anyway, What do you guys think about the current immigration situation in America? I've seen students at school fly the mexican flag over the U.S. flag, which is against the law!!! No Flag is suppose to fly over the host nations flag, yet students at Montecello High School, in California have chosen to disrespect the national flag and not only fly the Mexicasn flag above the U.S. Flag, but they flew the U.S. flag upside down, which is a detress signal!

What is this premise, that you should get rewarded for breaking the law. People honestly believe that they should be rewarded for illegally entering this country, while a lot of other immigrants applied lawfully, albeit the process took years, to become citizens. What does this policy say to them, that they should've cut corners? I understand that people want a better life for themselves and their families, but to turn a blind eye on past transgressions and reward criminal activity is not the answer.

No other ethnicity has society molding itself around them. You don't hear any other language on automated customer service but Espanol.

"If you want to stay here, America comes first, last ,and always otherwise go back and make it better where ever you came from but don't try to turn my country into yours by ILLEGALLY entering mine and then demanding all the benefits of a LEGAL citizen of our nation ....."

I'm not trying to offend anyone and I hope this leads to constructive conversation.

I was unaware that political duscussion were not welcome. Besides, I think this goes beyond the realm of being just political! I received an e-mail froma friend documenting the students all leaving class and flying the Mexican Flag over the U.S. Flag.

Other cultures have assimilated into the mainstream culture to become U.S. citizens, why should this be any different? Now you have to learn/ hear some form of spanish where ever you go in this country.

I actually heard a guy at the gym proudly profess to being illegal and he even ridiculed another gentleman who legally became a citizen saying that he "sold out"!

If the government really wanted to do more about this problem they'd find a way to put an end to the reason borders are crossed and not punish the honest people looking for work and a better life; but the places and people known to skirt laws and employ undocumented workers. Hell, they dont care if half the middle class jobs are shipped overseas, why should they care if its incoming too?
Many people 3 generations or more ago such as my family of German descent had to actually work and conform to do things the right way, now it seems like fast food culture crossed over to the wrong areas. I am from a farming family in Ohio, USA in an area where there are "seasonal workers" and have seen the special buildings and campgrounds designated just so these hardworking people have a place to stay. It seems they are welcomed but not really wink wink nudge nudge. Problem is the people in charge are the ones making money off the sweat of others so anything that happens with this issue will only go on until the profit margin loss makes it all the way up the food chain to them.
