I'm glad I didn't buy the warrant plan since it's been two months and I haven't heard back from ILO. When I had a cyberhome I heard back within 2 weeks. Anyway I was wondering since I don't care what happends to it would it be possible to open the cover and look inside it and figure out what is wrong? The recorder is locked up and the only way to pull the part where you put the dvd in has to come out manually. This machine only lasted 8 months and it's the kind from 04 that can only record on dvd+R or +RW.
ILO is a liteon product right? I happend to have a liteon dvdrom. Could the dvdrom work as a recorder if I put it in correctly? Thanks for any help.
You mention 04 Is the unit a R04 a RHD04 or is it a 05ZU a 05MU or a 05MU1 The 04 models are LiteOn. the 05 models are Cyberhome
I've bought two of the Ilos over the Christmas holiday, both had a horrible low frequency hum in the audio when set on the TV Tuner mode. All other modes were clear of any hum. I checked the wiring to the sound system, I even moved the Ilo over and hooked it up to the VCR wiring which had no hum, but when the Ilo was hooked up, it had hum regardless of where I put it. Outside of the hum, the units have both worked fine. For the record, the Ilo and the CyberHome units are exactly the same. They have the same circuitry, the same cabinets, the same remote controls and... THE SAME HUM!! Produced at the same plant.
[ Angie21m ] Ihave an ilo R04 and RHD04, also a ilo 05 MU1 and a Cyberhome 1200 I have had the Ilo 05 ZU and MU. The 04 units are made by LiteOn and have a known problem with hum, using the front jacks. The 05ZU was not a good machine. The 05 MU and MU1 are made by Cyberhome and are good machines, work very well. and have no hum. The ilo 05 MU and MU1 units are the same as the Cyberhome 1600. The Cyberhome 1200 is exactly the same as the O5 MU, MU1 and Cyberhome 1600. minus a DV input The ilo and Cyberhome have the same dimentions but the front of the units are different. The 04 can be hacked, the 05 cannot I would not part with my RHD04 or the R04. The RHD04 has better edit features than the R04 which in my opinion has no edit. A disk can be taken to the RHd04, 05 or the Cyberhome There are some features of the 05 I like better than the 04 The only real issue I have with the 05 is that the suurce defalts to DVD I have not had any problems with any of these units. Depending on your use If I were you I would keep the 04. I have had no problem communicating with ilo service. If you can not get satisfaction from them RAISE Hell With WalMart. ilo is a WalMart BRAND. even if purchased on ebay or other, it is a WalMart item. Tell them you purchased it from them and you want it fixed and not exchanged. Good Luck
