Hi, I was told by the ilo tech person to go to the website and get the firmware and burn on NERO but all I can get is the page where it says firmware, front and backside. I am so frustrated. I bought the maxell +R but they won't work on ilo. I am now stuck with a case of these and can't use them. Anyway I would appreciate any help on how to get the firmware and the steps on how to burn the disc and get it on the dvd recorder. Thanks and God Bless!

i also have an i/o dvd recorder

Just go to their site and you could actually chat to one of the rep.
and they will tell you to download nero toolkit first, and that will identify the burner and the current firmware. so they will give you the right firmware that way.

I had to get them to send me the firmware. Thanks. I am still mad about the case of dvd + r dvds that I bought. They told me to go by Fugi or sony, or a few others. Do yall have any suggestions about which to use?

which i/o recorder do you have, i know compusa have some i/o recorder that's on sale i'm not sure which model, but those doesn't booktype.

for medias go with sony or fuji made in japan, maxell made in japan and any verbatims will do it. and remember burn at the half of the highest speed available eg, 16x=8x.

I have tried the Maxell and can't get past 99% when it wants to get the dvd ready for recording. I have the ilo DVDR05/zu model. I am not sure how to change the speed or anything, this is my first time doing any of this. Thanks!

@EvilHolly, this is a recorder that he's having problems with so his system specs don't matter.

@sooner78 Ilo is a cheap walmart brand so there is definitely a possibility that it's defective. I'd trot it right back to walmart and tell them you want either an exchange or a refund.

From your post I would assume you have a ilo 05, The front side is for the system and the backside is for the DVD drive.
Hopefully you have the [MU] unit The firmware at the site is for the MU. There is none for the MU1 as it has the latest firmware and the MU firmware does not work on the MU1
If uou have the ZU unit --- Take it backand exchange it for the MU or MU Even if out of warranty demand an exchange. They Will

I have two ilo RHD04 and a R04 all some 2 years old and they work fine, they are made by LiteOn

I have had the 05 /ZU, MU, and MU1 made by Cyberhome. The ZU was poor in features and did not have a good chip set. The MU & MU1 are fine. ilo is a WalMart brand The units work fine for ther individual purpose. Most Bad mouthing comes from not understanding a units individual traits, its operation and the libral WalMart return policy

Why are you attempting upgrade the firmware. If you are having trouble, ilo will send you the disks. just ask, and tell them to include instructions If the disks are ok just put them in the machine and it will upgrade itself

As to the Maxell disks I use them and Verbatim and have never had any problems
