Hi I bought a Ilo dvd recorder, couldn't find the 04 model, only the 05. Can soneone please help me with the right firmware to disable the macrovision? I want to back up my old bought VHS tapes. Any help will be greatly appreciated! Thanks Greg P.S. If this is not possible, what kind of dvd recorder can I pick up at a local department store and change the firmware easily?
I have both the RHD04/with HDD and 05-MU1 The 04 can be hacked. the 05 can not be The RHD04 is very good, But has quirks, and is not acurate in its edit but is consistent in its error. It requires that you understand this and will work with it. The R04/no HDd. Is good but has a very poor edit. Get one with a hard drive if possable. WalMart lists a ilo RHD04 on there on line site The 05 is in my opinion a very good unit with good edit but no HDD IT CAN NOT BE HACKED You can run into a MV problem with the 05 To answer your PS Look at the LiteOn or ilo04 products, LiteOn makes the ilo 04. Be careful some LiteOn units can have problems with a hack . DO NOT upgrade firmware until sure that it will not prevent a hack.
