Ilo DVRHD04 firmware upgrade failed! HELP!

can anyone help me! I just got the DVRHD04 (october 2004), and installed it - after which i put in a data disc (finalized) with the newest hacked firmware. It went all the way through to 99, but then said "upgrade failed". I powered the unit off, and back on, and it said "put in cd". It wouldn' t open the tray, however, to allow me to put a different firmware disc. after a while it just says "error".

no matter what i do - it won't open to let me take out the disc and put in a new one.. help!!! what do i do!

 

Me too. Did you call tech support? I did and they started by blaming me for doing the upgrade unnecessarily then said they'd email me back. So far, nothing.

These can't be 2 isolated incidents surely? This is a REALLY shitty piece of hardware - these problems sould NEVER be allowed into consumer units. I guess you get what you pay for.

I wanna take mine back to Walmart but I cant as I'm in Canada (bought from ebay as new). Unless someone wants to take reciept of it and do it for me of course! Any takers?

 

i called support and they said that the hardware was bad, and to return it. It was obvious that he had heard of the problem before - probably many times..

Which support number? They wouldnt assist me on there at all and insisted they email me within 48 hrs - so far, northing.
