Hi, guys (and hopefully there are other girls out there, too). Glad to be part of your forum- hope you can say the same one day about me =) Please help me with this problem I'm having with ICOPYDVDs2 and DVD43. I installed both of these without a problem (I think). I popped in the movie (Story of Us- yea yea girl flick- well I'm a girl k?) then I waited until DVD43's devil face turned to a green face and then I started up ICOPYDVDs2. But after I hit Start on ICOPYDVDs2 it only loads up to 6% to 15% before I get an error message from ICOPYDVDs2 that reads "Encrypted Data." When I hit the OK button from this error message, it stops loading the movie and I'm sitting here scratching my head. Wasn't DVD43 suppose to bypass this error message for me so that I could continue copying the movie? Please let me know if I'm missing a critical step here or if I just stepped over something seemingly so minute but actually crucial (probably the latter, hu?). I have Windows XP if that helps (or adds insult to injury). Thanks, guys.

I've used DVD43 for 4 months now and haven't have any issue with it. Why don't you get/download the latest from DVD Shrink and DVD Decrypter? These 2 combo will do the job just fine. Use Shrink to compress and encode then burn with DVD Decrypter. Other than that, I've used InterVideo DVD Copy 3 with DVD43 and sometimes 1Click DVD Copy 4.1.1.8 with DVD43 running in the background to back up movies flawlessly.

i'll try to dL DVDSHRINK right now but i don't wanna buy 1CLICK since i just bought this one. i gave up on DVD43 so i actually deleted from my comp last night. so now i'm only using DVDDECRYPTER then when that's done i use ICOPYDVDS2. now the movies dL fine to my hard drive but i can't get it on a dvd-r. when i open ICOPYDVDS2 to burn it to the disc, it runs for awhile (it evens says on the status bar that it's copying or burnign or whatever) and tries to write to the dvd-r only to stop and finalize the disc after about a minute or two!!! grrr!!! so now i've got 3 dvd coasters =) what do i do? >=(

    freezepop,
Good call on removing DVD43 if you are running DVD Decrypter, they conflict. AnyDVD conflicts with DVD Decrypter as well, according to the creator of DVD Decrypter, Lightning UK.

Have you tried DVD Shrink? it's free and when used with DVD Decrypter it can be used to burn with. Actually Shrink will call Decrypter's burn engine at the correct time and burn with it.

What brand and type of blank media are you using? If a burn begins and then fails part of the way through then often times it is a simple media issue. You want to make sure yu are using good quality stuff. Go over to the DVD-R media forum and take a look at a few of the posts. Media is one of the main causes of failed burns.

thanks PPOWER i'll try CLONEDVD2 and ANYDVD if DVDSHRINK doesn't work. but i just downloaded DVDSHRINK and it's pretty easy well easy enough for a girl to use anyway. hehe. =)

o FASFRANK when u say use DVDSHRINK with DVDDECRYPTER does that mean i shouldn't even use ICOPYDVDS2 at all?

and the dvd-r brand i'm using is memorex. should i go with maxell or sony or something else? o yea right duh check the forum like u said. =)

thanks again guys i'll try it again this time i'll try to rip from DVDSHRINK to DVDDECRYPTER without using ICOPYDVDS2... wait is that even possible? o well i guess i'll find out. and if it works then what did i get ICOPYDVDS2 for anyway?!? grrr...

    @ freezepop

to perhaps save you some time with the dvd-media forum, it's generally agreed that i know what i'm talking about in that department~ i get dozens/week of questions via PM about media.

memorex is definitely at the BOTTOM of the rung in terms of media...stay away from them all ALL costs. most of which is media coded CMC MAG...and agreed as one of the worst, or THE worst even here on AD.

check my sig for personal recommendations as to what is GOOD media.
Taiyo Yuden or Verbatim, you will be good to go.

to buy locally, try to look for Fujifilm or Sony that are MADE IN JAPAN, this can be found looking right near the barcode on the spindles...for fuji and sony, the MIJ are genuine TYs with excellent results.

Verbatim's are MADE IN TAIWAN, but the MCC coded media is very good quality. i personally use only dvd+r format now, but, that is personal preference as i booktype them all to dvd-rom for more compatibility~

just thought i could help you out a little bit and save you some trouble, i just got finished answering about a dozen questions regarding media, so, this is a good end to my night~ good luck~

    good day to you all

I've ran into that ... I believe with the movie Ray. Had to turn off AnyDVD (doesn't happen that much though)

I am new here as well. I will be using the two systems listed in my signature (mainly the Dell) along with the Pioneer burner I just ordered. I have also ordered 50 8X Taiyo Yuden -R discs from SuperMediaStore(I read and see what you guys are having success with). I may have jumped the gun and ordered 1 Click DVD Copy, though. In some of you seasoned users opinion: Was this a mistake, or is it a decent investment for a beginner? I have DVD43Free installed already, and have copied two discs to my HD (actually, to a SeaGate 120 GB external HD) already since I have another day before my Pioneer arrives. I am open to any pointers as to how to proceed next... Thanks for reading.

Yes the TY are the way to go for the blank media,Verbatim and Maxell are the only other two i use also .As far as using 1 Click DVD Copy ,its a good program to use for begininers or anyone for that matter BUT there are two other program that would be a BETTER choice DVD Clone2 or DVDCopy3 (which iam using) also anydvd is better than DVD43Free and you can try it free for 21 days along with DVD Clone2 or DVDCopy3.you can also use the freeware programs too dvd shirnk and dvd decrypter. heres a guide to use

PPOWER and FASFRANK thank you guys sooooo much!!!! Im freakin gushing that this is finally working!!! phew!!! at the same time im kinduf disappointed that i paid $50 for ICOPYDVDS2 and i don't even need it?!?!?! i'm just using DVDDECRYPTER then DVDSHRINK to copy movies now. anyway i took your guys' advice and bought sony dvd-r and maxell dvd-rw. i do find that the dvd-r doesn't work all the time though. like i was copying school of rock for my bro today and it copied all the way until the credits. and if you know the movie the credits are pretty cute. i mean cool =) anyway it starts skipping and goes back to the beginning of the movie while the credits roll. but when i copied it again but on dvd-rw instead it went through without a hitch. anyway i don't think dvd-r is reliable. unless it's just sony. then i'll try fujifilm like you suggested. the problem is that i already wasted like 8 sony dvd-r discs!!! they would copy anywhere from 5%-98% then would just stop. so it's a waiting game for me! anyway it's fun when it works right?

and i have no one to thank but you guys!!! thanks again!

now if only i knew the difference between dvd+r/dvd+rw and dvd-r/dvd-rw. i tried reading other threads here but never got a clear answer. ok i gotta go but just wanted to drop a line and say thanks to you guys. now may i take off the "kick me" sign? hehehe =) nite nite
