I've got an old movie that i've transfered to DVD. It's in black and white and the quality is not the best (picture quality is dark & sound is low). The original had these problems, so it's not related to the VHS to DVD transfer. I'm planning on converting it to an AVI or MPEG file and then trying to edit it on my PC. What is the best program that i could use to edit it? I think if i can just make it a bit lighter, and raise the volume, then it should be ok. But maybe there are other things i could do to it, to make it look better? Anyone got any tips?
VirtualDub (an AVI tool) with the mpeg2 and ac3 plugins can load the VOB files from the DVD. The Video filters can adjust colour/contrast/brightness etc. The result can be saved as avi.
