HI, im new to the forums, and basically to all this conversion stuff. Ive read the rules, and done a search, but i dont really know what im looking for. My basic problem is this: i have a friend that does not have DVD compatability on her computer, so i was wondering if there is any way to convert my DVD to any other format (im thinking MPEG), so that it is viewable by her. The amount of time/ programs i need dont really matter. I just want to know how to do it. THanks.
hi sn1pz0r svcd uses mpeg2 which will give you better picture quality, but may or may not play in your standalone dvd player http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd2svcd_with_tmpgenc.cfm vcd uses mpeg1,not as good a picture but you can fit more on a cdr 80minutes,as opposed to 60 with svcd http://www.afterdawn.com/guides/archive/dvd2vcd_with_smart_dvd2avi_tmpgenc.cfm you may or may not have to download a codec pack to watch it on your computer. good luck and welcome to the forum jim
Ive downloaded the appropriate software/s, but i dont know what to do with them. Is there a step by step guide on the site that i can get a link to? Or could someone help me? I would look myself, but i dont really know what im looking for. Im very new to DVD conversion/ ripping. THanks.
