Hello, I know I have had to do this several times in the past but its been a few years now and for some reason I cannot get to it this time and feel like and utter a*hole for even posting this. I am using Firefox on WinXP Pro SP2 and I cannot get Japanese/Korean/Chinese and other languages for that matter to display properly besides ""ÅÅÇÅ" and "?????". Such as this link. Can anyone please help and if you feel like it do call me names for even asking such a question. Thank You
You are refearing to when you push the alt button and press the numbers on the right of the keyboard right?
I know a way to do it, it's going seem really strange, but this is the way I got Firefox to display asian characters. First download Icesword. It's a security program, but that's not the point. After you download it, unzip it and double click on the IceSword.chm (it's just the help file that comes with the program). It will ask you if you want to download chinese language packs to view the file, say yes. Once you do this you will not only be able to view the help file, but asian character in firefox as well. http://files3.majorgeeks.com/files/84c4e1ac8fbeda6115497c44daa03e10/spyware/icesword1.18en.rar This of couse probably is not the official way to do it but its how I got it to work for me. You can delete IceSword after you are done. When I first downloaded IceSword I was just trying out the program, it had nothing to do with viewing characters, but because of it I can view asian characters in my browser. How about that.
I got it to work after installing East Asian Languages display pack from micro$oft's website. Thanks for the tips.
