    for being a noob.... but... Im trying to backup Rome Total War onto my hardrive as an image so that I can mount it on a drive... because i have so many other games i drives me insane trying to look through my entire cd wallet... anyways, I made the game into an image using alcohol 120%. But when ever I try to open the game on the mounted drive, I always get this warning:
    [image]http://img389.imageshack.us/my.php?image=warning0fr.jpg[/image]

    I used A-ray scanner and it said that the game has SafeDisc 3.20... when i made an image using alcohol... i used safedisk 2/3 for the datatype...someone please help!

    Google 'no-cd' patch.
    There are a few good sites that have ALL the fixes,
    That way you dont need to worry about mounting the files.

    cheers!

    quote dRD;

    "We aim to dedicate this forum to topics covering games themselves, problems with games, walk-throughs, reviews, opinions, etc. And therefor this forum room is not meant for discussions about backing up PC games. As we don't have such forum right now, post the PC game backup topics to "CDR" forum, located here:

    http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/38

    or alternatively, to our "All other topics" forum at

    http://forums.afterdawn.com/forum_view.cfm/45

    Obviously it is allowed to discuss about games here even if your copy is a backup or downloaded version. But don't come to this forum room asking how to make your backup work or how to backup your games."

    Wrong, wrong, wrong. A very large part of our site is dedicated to helping folks back up media and get their copies to work properly.

    What's not allowed is providing links to nocd patches, warez or cracks.

    I appreciate you wanting to help out but you need to chill and let us Mods handle these issues. If in the future you see something that needs attention then please feel free to either pm me or any other mod until you can use the report offensive post feature.

    Well thanks for the help anyways... I used daemon tools instead of alcohol 120% to replecate a drive...and it worked..

    Nephilim, the whole post I made above was by "dRD" in this thread.

    http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/262065

    I was merely quoting "dRD" stating that this isn't (I assume) a place for backup chat - none of the above comments were my own. But I can appreciate how you may have seen it as me telling people what to do. I'll be more clear in future.
