I got this iso from rusty
its already setted up for a static connection
    and burned and working.
at this time dont have the soft/hardware to reburn another cd so im sticking with this one

    ok here is the problem

this evox installer is setted up like this

staticp ip : Yes <-- OK
    IP : 192.168.0.1 <- seems ok
    subnet mask: 255.255.255.0 <--- ok
    default gateway: 192.168.1.1 <-- ???

on all tutorials I've seen the default gateway for the xbox should be left blank
the bad thing is I cant change and save that because im setting up from the CD disk

so I put this on my pc

    ip: 192.168.0.2
    255.255.255.0

    ip: 192.168.0.3
    255.255.255.0

    ip: 192.168.0.4
    255.255.255.0

    ip: 192.168.0.0
    255.255.255.0

    and so on

also I've changed the default gateway of the pc to be the same as the xbox

    and nothing works

I always get the same message
    conection timed out

whats wrong with the installer? or with the settings???

    any real help
    I would apreciate it alot

    thanx

It's not the Slayers set up because I use the same ISO for every install I do.
On your PC leave the default gateway blank, it works for me.
Make sure your using a crossover cable or hub. Also make sure you don't have a firewall enabled on your PC.
Check your Network connections to make sure there is only one active.

its never going to work as your default gateway does not exist and it on a different network to your pc and xbox.

Extract the ISO on your PC and edit the evox.ini so that the default gateway is left blank of matches the IP address of your PC and the create an ISO again and burn it.

The only way i can connect to my Xbox is by making the ip on my PC the same as the default gateway on my Xbox. Go to the TCP/IP properties of your network card & make the IP 192.168.1.1
