Have a sony DAV-C990 player, backed up movies on Imation DVD+R 8x media. Plays well on desktop. No Scratches. However, in Sony player, near the end of movies or after midway, audio and video pauses and breaks, similiar to what you encounter with scratched discs. Sony has no firmware upgrades. Had no problems with TDK media. So, is this a media problem? Using Clonedvd and anydvd to backup movies: Meet the Fockers, pocahantas, Gremlins, Flying Daggers, and Bat Man Returns. All have same problem. any solutions to fix problem, like burning at 4x instead of 8x? Asking because I have over 40 discs left. Bought a 50-pk for $18. Please help, $18 bucks down the drain.... NOOOOO. :(

Here's a couple MID codes for imation dvd+r's. That first one would scare me. Use dvd identifier to get your code. Here's the link if you don't have it. http://dvd.identifier.cdfreaks.com/

    Imation DVD+R 4x (CMC MAG.F01)
    Imation DVD+R 4x (RICOHJPNR01)
