the board is incompatible with high density ram so only reads half the total. was this always like this? what is the make & model# of the computer or motherboard prefer the motherboard

board can support 512meg of ram if it is compatible which it is not as only shows half of the ram. i have a customer with the same problem. choice is either replace the ram to that is compatible to your board or replace your board. it might not cost anything for the ram as possible might do an exchange

Hi guys ref my last post when I remove my cmos battery one of the suggestions from a different source I get DOS with a message in the bottom left corner stating.
    CMOS SETTINGS WRONG
    CMOS/GPNV CHECKSUM BAD
    CMOS MEMORY SIZE WRONG
Is there anyway I can change this without trying to exchange the DIMM's or having to fork out for new one's

try going into your bios setup to see if that might correct itself

when removing & re-installing the battery you will get that message so go into the bios to correct the time & date, boot sequence of the drives. see what it shows for ram amount
