img files and nero

    D/Ld a certain movie from a certain site. it was a rar file so unpacked it using winrar. the movie plays fine on windows media player but when i tried to burn it to dvd using nero 6 it tells me "no compatible files found". the unpacked movie is an IMG FILE, does nero not recognise this. i'm new to all this so forgive me if i'm being stupid
