You are using poor quality/low compatibility discs.

Your burner cannot read the discs.

Get yourself some Verbatims, they were on sale at OfficeMax. If you buy online, get Taiyo Yuden

I'm using the same ones that I always use. I use Sony or these HP ones. I guess maybe the company that makes them changed something. Is that possible? Thanks for youre time

Hp among many other sublet their discs and simply stamp their name on them.

Cyp is right. CMC MAGs are bottom of the barell for blank media. Use the good stuff. Taiyo Yuden, Verbatim. You'll never be sorry for using good blank media.

You should also avoid using the MAX setting, try and stick to 1/2 the rated media speed (or try 4X), this is especially important if the media is of poor quality.

Best media is Made in Japan (MIJ)

Last I heard, all of Taiyo Yudens are MIJ

I'm thinking that your Burner may need a firmware up-grade. Sony 510 is a little on the Old side.

You May even want to replace it altogether.

Also changing disc to Verbatims and slowing down the burn speed is some great advice.

Verbatims are made Tiawan and are good quality discs, and can be found in Brick and morter store. Tys are usually found only on-line.

I would change the target size to 4300 mb.
(I assume you are using Shrink)

    Here's a Guide.
