Can you use ImgBurn to "read" give you a score from burning the dvd from a stand alone dvd vcr combo after you have finalized it there? I see a number on some that i have done and they all show "74". I have seen some comments on links on this site that 74 is not good? I have not used ImgBurn to do a DVD so is that the only way you get a true reading? I put the dvd in the drive and opened ImgBrn and clicked on verify disc? Wrong or right? thanks
If you want to check your DVD burn quality, use Nero CD-DVD speed. http://www.afterdawn.com/software/cdr_software/cdr_tools/nero_cd_speed.cfm All the answers/help you might need you can get in this thread(like if your burner supports all the scan features and stuff...): http://forums.afterdawn.com/thread_view.cfm/142/540688
is that after you have just burned with nero or if i had done it on a stand alone? not sure if the nero i have will do that, but Img will not? =============
You don't need to have Nero, just download the application on its own. You do the scan after the burn, regardless of what software you used to burn.
the same thing came up as was in nero, but being i had not used it before did not know whether i was a foot or horseback, if you will, any way i created some readings from a dvd, the one i used had all green showing, the benchmark went straight across on about 7 yellow line, green went from 8 to 16x on one side the other side showed 20, the jitter went from 3T to 11T and 14 T, but it was a different spike pattern than what i have seen on the tutorial, the disc info is to lengthy to try and describe, i guess i know how to run it, now i have to try and understand it. tks
Realize these tests are nowhere near as important as some would have you believe. The test is often more a statement about the drive, than the disc. Don't get caught up in the scanning game, expecting it to prove anything to you. A simple TRT and surface scan will suffice.
Very true. Also, I think Some drives are excellent burners, but very unreliable scanners. I have a Nec that works excellent, never had an issue with burns, they play great and still are flawless years later... however, if I do a scan, I get low scores, almost all the time...
I really never had an issue with anything, they seemed to be either successful or they failed, failure very rare, unless using brands that were not recommended by the burners. , how ever after watching a few remarks here and there, i did not know if i was missing something. I can put that time to something else naturally if not necessary.
