I looked through the forums to see if anyone had the same problem as I do but I couldn't find it. I have followed the guide for Avi2dvd on here and Imgburn and it doesn't seem to burn the whole video. The file size isn't too big, after the conversion its about 4 gigs and its only and hour and 13 mins. long. I am so confused as to why 18 mins. into the video, it stops when I play it in a dvd player. I am new to this but have done everything in the guide to precisely. I had some problems with the programs running on Vista but it goes through the process with no problems and I end up with just 1/3 of the video. Any help or suggestions would be greatly appreciated. I am totally lost. Thanks in advance.
Do the output files (I assume in a folder) from Avi2dvd play back ok on the PC when you open them with your media player. Does the list of files that were output from Avi2dvd exactly match the list in the 'VIDEO_TS' folder on the burned disk.
Run your DVD in computer drive to see if it play. Window Media Player sometime does not work, so try VLC player (free) or if you have Nero, that one is OK too. If it works fine than it is your DVD media, which your DVD player does not like.
Well, I tried playing both the dvd and the files saved on my computer and it can't play them on Windows Media Player, but it does play perfectly off of the disc with VLC player. Yes the files that are on the disc are the same as the files that are converted after avi2dvd. The first time I converted the avi, I thought something went wrong during the conversion, so I did the process again and I don't know where the files went but they weren't in the Video_TS folder so I tried the same files from the first time with the same results. I am really confused.
Suba, when u say its the media it doesn't like, do u mean the brand of dvd's or the VOB format that the dvd has? Thanks again.
yeah, it stops the dvd from playing about 18 and a half minutes into the video. But VLC won't play continuous video. It will play the seperate VOB files, one at a time. The VLC player minimizes then I have to select the next file to watch, then it plays it perfectly, with the file location at the bottom. Is that normal?

Well, I thought that I took care of that. I looked it up on this site for anyone that had that problem with the same error. I saw that someone used Ifoedit to create Video_TS.IFO. It worked by creating it, and the message didn't show up again so I thought that it was fixed. What do I need to do to fix it?
Try making the IFO's again. Then click on Get VTS Sectors. Then process the files with either VobBlanker or FixVTS. Then try to open the files using DVD Shrink.
Ok, so I'm guessing I open the Video_TS folder in DVDShrink and compress and back them up as usual with dvdshrink, then try burning the dvd again? I'll give it a try.
If your files are already a good size for burning, there's no need to do anything else. Using Shrink is just a way to see if the files are DVD compliant. If they are not, Shrink will complain.
Do I need to process each VOB file seperately in Ifoedit. I have five in the Video_TS folder each about 1 gig and one thats 165MB. DVDshrink opened the Video_TS file but its still only 18 mins. and 31 sec long and says its 4.26 gigs. I gotta be doing something wrong because its just not getting all the files in there. I'm sorry if I'm asking alot of questions but I'm new to this and really getting frustrated.
I obviously don't know what I am doing wrong. The dvd is still the same. After processing the files in Ifoedit and FixVTS, and I load it in dvdshrink it still says that the video is 18 mins. long. Where is the rest of the video? And why is this taking up so much room on a dvd when its only 18 mins. long? I am about to pull my hair out. I even compressed the video with dvdshrink and watched the video preview. It goes from beginning to end, credits and everything and yet, I can only get 18 mins of it. I have done everything that has been suggested, and still no success. Does anyone know what's going on? Please help.
