Rather than get this mixed in with the iX LT thread, I decided to create a thread to give everybody a heads up.

C4 has stated that wave 3 and up games have a slight change in the SS and SSv2 is needed!

[11:38] <@[TONE]> c4e claims there has been a change to the ss
[11:38] <@[TONE]> slight deviations supposedly to check for kreon
    [11:39] <@[TONE]> if its wave3 or newer
    [11:39] <@[TONE]> ssv2 is needed according to c4e

If you are going to play Wave 3 or higher, you need SSv2 while online and also SplitVid is a requirement.

Where can we find the SSV2.bin files if we don't backup our own games.

Can the same SSV2 be injected into any backup or does each backup need it's unique SSV2?

Thanks in advance and apologies if this is common knowledge.

    Each SS.bin is unique.

Example: You have MW2 and need a SSv2 SS.bin. You must get a SS.bin that was ripped from MW2 or rip it yourself with a iX 1.6 0800 drive. Then you can inject the SS.bin into the ISO and reburn.

I mentiond this before but I think we need a database to DL ss bin files of wave 3+. It shouldn't be hard to do.

Could abgx360 not do this for us if a SSV2 DB was created?

Im guessing it could be done, but I reckon it would be faster if maybe a group of individials who know what they are doing got together and created their own database :D

im using a 0800 with the latest 0800 firmware from Xbins
im also using XBC the latest from xbins also

am i ok to rip with default settings and just burn regular without patching anything??

Hey everybody, I hate to break it to you but all games should have SSv2, not just wave 3 and up. All games that have been ripped with a actual 360 drive will have SSv2. Just thought I'd let ya in on the secret. ;)

    It is no secret. :p

According to C4eva there was a slight change in the angles after wave 3. His guess was to catch Kreons. The angles on Wave 1 and 2 will work with SSv1 because they are pressed that way. No way M$ can change that.

Why does a wave 2 or 1 still rip with SSv2 when ripped with a 360 drive then?

because the angles were checked multiple times for accuracy which is how you get SS v2. They will be identical to the angles for SS v1 though. Also, use the edit button rather than double posting :)

[01:57] <+c4eva> other drives are on the agenda

    [01:58] <+c4eva> Even hitachi!

    [01:58] <n8ofsp8ds> preferred SS v2 ? what if its v1

    [01:58] <+c4eva> SS v2 is best, yes!

[02:00] <chieftex> THE question is - do we flash to stock first before accepting any updates from LIVE?

    [02:00] <+c4eva> chieftex:that will be answered soon!

[04:20] <+RapStar> leaked fw was the same as this one people say

    [04:21] <+c4eva> rapstar:no its not
[04:32] <+c4eva> ss v1 created using a 360 drive is fine, kreon is not!

[04:33] <+DxS> so if u wanna be safe, rip ur own games with a 360 drive

    [04:33] <+DxS> 0800 standalone fw

    [04:33] <+c4eva> dxs:correct

    [18:50] <+c4eva> hello

[18:51] <@[TONE]> has there been changes by m$ yet on the discs?

[18:53] <+c4eva> yes, a very slight change in alignment , wave 3 onwards i think, so as to identify kreon rips!

[18:59] <+lt83850> c4 - elaborate more on calibration data when you get time as well, why was the addition added now if it wasn't even discussed for months? any additions?

[19:14] <+c4eva> cal data is not accessed by fw code at all but could be used by other processes, its value is still unknown, but since full dumps are now available, included for correctness

[12:07] <ratodopar> lt has no stealth i guess

[12:07] <+c4eva> LT has full stealth

[12:10] <|avfc2k|> c4eva whats best for banned box wave loading wise the non stealth or LT?

    [12:10] <+c4eva> LT

    [12:11] <ratodopar> even new games are ssv1

    [12:12] <+c4eva> ssv1 from a 360 drive is good!

    [12:14] <+c4eva> kreon:wave1 ,wave 2 ok, but 360 drive is always best!

[12:18] <Kushan> Right now SSv1 is fine, SSv2 is only needed if something changes. Splitvid is NEEDED for iXtreme LT. There you go.

[12:19] <Kushan> when SSv2 is "needed", it'll be for games from that point onwards, not previous game

    [12:20] <Kushan> SSv1/SSv2 are a firmware thing from c4eva and co

[12:20] <Kushan> it just refers to the angles used when the game disk is pressed

[12:21] <+c4eva> 359 is left as is, if jitter result is 360 then it is set to 0

[12:21] <Kushan> right now, some of those target angles are ALWAYS certain values

<Kushan> KREON rips use predetermined angles, games ripped from a 360 drive will use the correct ones, SSv1 or SSv2

[12:24] <+c4eva> new games should not give 359 all the time, although this passes, it will stand out!

From reading that , then only NEW games wave 4 & beyond need SSV2 is that correct?

Normally just get on here and read.... great source of information, but had to add my experiences with the Kreon drive. I have used this drive to make my backups, and really did not pay much attention to this whole ss1v, ssv2 thing until the recent release of LT. Many have said the the Kreon will not copy the ss2v sectors. I have made backups of my original games (MW2, Army of Two 40 days, and Left 4 Dead 2)and after going back and running the iso's (that I made with the Kreon drive) thru ABGX, all three of the games return ssv Version: 2 (trusted). I dont know how to explain it, or if it is just a fluke, but I know these were original game, backed up on a Kreon drive.

So SSv1 is ok if ripped from 0800. How can we tell which drive is used from abgx?

Edit: I see now you can get the info if you enable High Verbosity. But I cannot seem to get drive info for games that are not in database yet. Is there any way around that?

I've heard of this before as well. Perhaps it has something to do with the ripping software you're using. If it returns ss v2 in abgx I would say it's ok regardless if it was a kreon or not

Just a heads up, I checked one of the games I ripped myself and put the setting on high verbosity only to find out that the drive it listed was incorrect. I checked my very own CODMW2 rip which I ripped with a 360 BenQ drive and it said I ripped it with a SH-D162D. Unless I'm looking in the wrong area. I'm looking at the bottom where it says "DriveName="

We need a massive ABGX update now
seems LT wont be worth it UNLESS u back up your own games and grabign stuff off pirate releases are pretty much HIGHER chance of getting banned more then ever.
