    Hi guys

I appear to be being dragged into this long thread even though I would have preferred to speak to Alex on the phone.
I can’t sit back and do nothing while people imply I am selling fake discs or that I’m involved in VAT fraud!
I have tried to call you Alex on the number on your website but it cuts to answerphone.
Please feel free to call me anytime to discuss any products on our website so that issues like this can be avoided in the future.

The Taiyo Yuden stock on our website is all official.
You are welcome to come to the warehouse and inspect it/test it. You will find no threads on any forum or newsgroup complaining of the poor quality of our Taiyo Yuden media, because people don't have problems with genuine TYs.
If you would like to arrange a mutually convenient time I will personally show you around. We have nothing to hide.

Taiyo Yuden 8x -R is available from Goldings at under 45p + VAT per disc if you are buying over 30k.
The stock I have here did indeed cost me more than I am selling it for but I can replace it for less than I am selling it for.
As soon as this stock is sold I can replenish it at 45p and make a profit.
As soon as I got the new lower price from Goldings I put my price down to move it through, otherwise I would be stuck with stock of an overpriced product. Hopefully when I restock I will be able to bring the price we charge for the TYs down again!

We have a good reputation here at SVP (in my opinion).
We sell good media at good prices to people who want good media.
We also sell cheaper media at cheaper prices to people who want cheaper media.
We offer people quick delivery, good prices, excellent after sales service, a 30 day “No quibble” warranty of EVERYTHING we sell, and a 7 day price match against our own prices. I think that goes to show how much faith we have in the products we sell doesn’t it?
Ask yourself…would anyone offer 30 day “No Quibble” warranty on fake TY media? No of course they wouldn’t!
When you look at all the ingredients of SVP doesn’t it seem like a decent recipe for a media website?

I spoke to the owner of Goldings this afternoon. He didn't give me the impression of being annoyed with me. I'm sure he would like to charge me more for the discs, and I'm sure I would like to pay less for them...but that's business.

I will not be replying on this thread again.
If anyone who reads this wants to call me, the phone number is 07974 804 001.
If anyone who reads this wants to email me my email address is steve@svp.co.uk.
If anyone who reads this wants to visit our place of business, just ask.

If SVP want to sell genuine "A" grade media at what you say is less that you can buy them at cost, then good luck to them. The end user is not interested in so called business ethics just value for money and to purchase genuine grade "A" Taiyo Yuden considerably cheaper than anywhere else is value for money. You have not come up with any substantial proof that this media is not grade "A" stock and until such times as you do I suggest you crawl back into the hole from which you emerged!

You state you lowered the price as soon as you received the new prices from Golding, Golding told me on the phone today that they are currently reviewing prices and these prices will be available in the near future, so if the prices have not been changed yet, how did you manage to change your prices inline with theirs?

You have said nothing about demanding a credit note from Golding.

You have not confirmed whether or not you have any Taiyo Yuden disks that are from Asia instead of Golding.

Whereas I appreciate you coming on here and posting, your story does not match up to what Golding are saying, I am sure I will speak to Golding again tomorrow and before the end of the week we should have some clear answers.

Golding literally accused you of holding them to ransom for the credit note, how do you explain that?

Flash, Golding themselves has expressed concern that they suspect SVP have some "unofficial" TYs, SVP demanded a credit note based on the prices they had for "unofficial" TYs and you say there is nothing suspect?

Whatever man, you are entitled to your opinion, I will wait for Golding to clear this up. Their tone to me on the phone this morning was of serious concern with SVPs business practises.

As I said to Steve, I appreciated his input to the thread but he failed to address the issues that were raised.

PS: As to the "no quibble" guarantee you know that simply is not true Steve, I had a customer just today send me a copy of an email from you Quibbling over some returns. I guess it depends on how you define "no quibble", I define it as "If they are broke we will replace them no questions asked" your definition might be something like this I suppose "If they are broke then we will ask you to burn all the disks you bought before we will give you a refund, despite your request that you have no desire to try and burn anymore of the disks due to a 9 out of 15 failure rate."

Naked Geek, I have to defend Steve as I know him and speak to him regulary. All he wants to do is try to help the punter get a better price and keep them happy. What is the problem with that may I ask?

He, from what I know is a very down to earth guy, who as a businessman is very intelligent or he wouldn't be where he is now! I believe that you are just jealous of his success. Anyone would, even I am.

He has worked hard to get where he is now, so lay off the guy and also lay of SVP Communications, don't drag his company down or his employees into mud (they work hard). And no I don't work for them and I don't work for Shaf (even though I don't like what Shaf does).

SVP Communications are a very good company who look after their customers, they work 24 hrs a day to keep up their reputation. What they write on their website is the truth, if you want cheap discs then you can buy cheap discs (you get what you pay for: CRAP) and if you want better discs then you are paying for them at a higher cost. Who else has such a variety of products? Do you, Naked Geek?

If SVP want to make a loss on their products so be it at least the punters won't cry about it, its coming out SVP's pocket, the punters will be laughing seeing a retailer losing money. I think SVP could make up the money on something else. I'm sure thats how it works also in the computer industry, where they make a lost on something and a gain on another.

Look at the computer fairs! You think that Steve is doing a VAT fraud, well most of the guys at the computer fairs are doing it. I personally don't think Steve would be that stupid. The fact that he does trash the market so be it! Whats wrong with that? Surely that is good for the punters? Its up to him and whether people follow is another matter. He's making the money and we are not, thats clever!!!

    End Of!

If he does speak the truth on his site then why does he state Orange Ritek as A Grade when everyone knows they are not?

And also most of his e-N*t based disks are not A Grade when the site states they are?

Fair play to the guy though. I have known him a while and while he may have no loyalty he is a decent businessman.

That is the second time VAT fraud has been mentioned, when did I ever claim he was defrauding VAT, no where.

the above is a quote from NakedGeek

I would just like to add to NakedGeek creditability by saying i am infact that customer regarding refund on disks. I bought a batch 100 A grade media DVD-R 4x only to burn 75 disks without checking and the final batch of 25 i actually started to take notice of defective disk writes and the disks i did actaully manage to get no coasters, led too poor playback performance.

I now have looked at the previous 75 disks and found that at least 85% of what i burnt has been a complete waste. I am completed pissed with the idea of purchasing 100 disks that appear to be grade A media but simply just cant because of their performance. U couldnt pay people to use these disks there that bad.

I contacted SVP to get a refund and was told i must use the disks and report how many led to a coaster but what about the stuff i burnt that led to corrupt playback? .....anyway i decided SVP not to live up to there refund policy...i only asked for a batch of 25 new disks when i purchase over a 100 disk every six weeks for over one year :( regrading myself as a very loyal customer.

You cant expect a customer to be able to distinguish between different types of GradeA media to the extent where at least 85 % is sh*t .....The question this has caused my to ask myself is the media i have purchased really Grade A?

    u make your conclusion?

I would just like to add NakedGeek is doing nothing wrong he has only mentioned the truth and raised really good question which has only open peoples eyes......He works in the industry and has asked how certain issues are possible. If SVP is dragged through the mud its only because SVP havent contributed to this thread in the forum ....NakedGeek isnt accountable for lack of SVP contribution which suggests there are things to hide.

    Dear Nephilim,

I wonder what made you so upset at your last post... ;)

I am watching this thread for a long, and from the first message it was like this. Bad media distributed by bad businesses. There is not anything new now!

Just a question! I hope I am not banned...

I too have followed this thread but this is getting stupid. My earlier posts were mainly in reference to NakedGeek but I will ban anyone else who perpetuates this nonsense.

I've seen the crap that he stirred up at another major forum (where he was ultimately banned) and it will not happen here.

With the exception of one single post his entire contribution to this site has been in this very thread either pimping his media or bickering with those who found out the hard way that his AN32 media is trash. He's even managed to drag SVP into this.

NakedGeek, either make a useful contribution to our site or buy ad space:

DVD and Media are jealous? It's not difficult to own a market with a few million quid behind you.

Anyway who are you to know if DVD and Media are jealous or not?
