    Hi,
I am in Dublin (N*L)using the BOX SUPER with latest firmware 8.02e.

Woke this morning to find that 1st channel i went to said "channel moved please wait" , then after few seconds got "bad or scrambled channel"...all channels now the same !

    I checked EMU (ITS ON)
I done automatic scan on N*L (GOT NO CHANNELS ?) weird
Done factory reset and rescan (GOT NO CHANNELS?)

This seems strange to me getting no channnels on a rescan , are we talking a NEGRAVISION change here???

PLEASE HELP ...Barneys on Soon , I will have one upset Toddler , lol

They might be working on cables in your area, try ringing and listening to the local faults recorded message.

Have you an n*l box, do you get any channels on that?

I have all my channels fine in north dublin, except the ones that have been missing for a couple of weeks now, discovery +1 and discovery science, so they haven't rolled anything out.

    Try this,
    Menu > 1570
Go to Set Default Key & press ok
Exit to s*y two & let it update.

    **IMPORTANT**

I hooked back up my UPC pace Box only to see that I got a signal but all my channels (even RTE) were access denied ??
Called N*L ...I was talking to the guy and he seemed to have an attitiue that my box had not been used in a while ???

He said it will take up til 8pm tonight to give me access back to my package , someone will also call me about the problem with my UPC Box (or ask probing questions?) , should I be concerned about them knowing the PACE box out for up to 6 months ?

    edit & update ....
My PACE box has just now shown all channels that I pay for (basic) ..I am still expecting the phone call , how would they know ?thats if they do
Advice Welcome or should I just take 2 little blue Tabs and chill out

Anyone else with similar out there ?

Its none of their business whether you have the n*l b0x on or not.
Sure arent you paying them. If anyone asks questions (which they have no right to), tell them to mind their own business.

    Noely,
Not too concerned , they can go stuff in my eyes , just now interested to know if they started suspending the signal to cerain customers who have not been using their PACE box.

The longer you leave it off, it will lock the channels. I know a couple of people this happened to & they switched the b0x on in another room & all channels unlocked later that day.
The b0x does send feedback, so they know if you`re using it or not.
But once you`re paying the bill, theres nothing they can do .

    Noel ,
Your an absolute Gent ..thanks .

I have an idea ...If I was to kepp both boxes plugged in (Pace&SupBox) and split the cable using a splitter would that work (ie)as far as they see I will have my Pace in use .

Am i correct ...if so what would i need to buy just a splitter and have a feed to both boxes from this ?

Not a very Green solution but I will off set my Carbon by having a 1 cold shower a week . lol

A splitter would work, but could probably upset the signal quality on the SV3.

    UPDATE ....

Heres the deal , Yes it seems N*L are temporarly suspending signals to Paceboxes if they have not been in use for a set period of time ,the reason for this is anyones guess but could be crafty way of getting a measurement of our beloved Boxes , how they know this I am bafelled ?

What I was asked for on the phone was the serial number at the bottom of the Pace , as soon as I gave it I may have well been talking to a robot as a script seemed to have been read out to me " Your settop box has been noted as not been functioning or been used blah blah blah ..it will be turned on today before 8pm and you will receive a phone call blah blah blah "

I have now hooked both Pace & SupeBox up using a splitter so at least now both are up and running and as far a NTsmell are concerned I am a Pace user .

Guys I was my understanding that the Pace Boxes issued by NTsmell had no feedback (no backcommunication to N*L this seems now not to be the case?

    Anyone any input ?

There is no talkback on subbed boxes in Ireland, but you need to keep it plugged into the feed to keep it updated. Either way as said if you leave it plugged in for a while it will clear all the channels you are subbed to.
