Can someone help me, pretty please ... I recently purchased a Microadvantage DVD burner and up until now I have had no problems whatsoever in burning DVD's ... Now all of a sudden, the burn process fails soon after it starts... I am getting so frustrated because I keep wasting more and more discs, I am using HP DVD+R 8X ... Even when trying to burn SVCD's, the process completes, but when I try to play the disc in my standalone DVD player, I get a BAD DISC error ... Now I know for a fact that this problem is the burner because my standalone still plays the DVD's and SVCD's that I burnt last week when the burner was working properly ... I upgraded to the latest flash firmware, on the Microadvantage site, but this doesn't seem to help me either .. Here is the log of the last DVD that I tried to burn ... It was in Video_TS format, and I did it the way I always do it, and about a quarter of the way through the burning process, it failed ... Here is the log: Windows XP 5.1 IA32 WinAspi: - ahead WinASPI: File 'C:\Program Files\Ahead\Nero\Wnaspi32.dll': Ver=2.0.1.59, size=160016 bytes, created 6/17/2003 3:25:04 PM Nero version: 6.0.0.9 Recorder: < 16X8 DVD DUAL> Version: A080 - HA 1 TA 1 - 6.0.0.9 Adapter driver: <atapi> HA 1 Drive buffer : 2048kB Bus Type : via Inquiry data (1) -> ATAPI, detected: ATAPI Connected to MMC as unknown drive with class-nr : 1 Drive is autodetected - recorder class: Std. First, get some RW media until you figure out the problem. Second, have you been using the same HP media or is this HP media different? It could be your drive doesn't like the media. Try a different brand of media but definitely get some RW for experimentation. If you can burn RW media, it's likely bad media. If it's not media, it could be either a hardware or software problem. Try the above first, report back, and we'll all go from there.
Hey guys thanks for the ideas ... And yes I still have the same package of HP DVD+R 8x that I bought when I bought the DVD burner ... Thanks
