Just put together a system with an amd 4400 x2

The system is in a quit room and i dont like the sound of the stock heatsync/fan

What would you reccomend as a cooler that is silent? It is not being overclocked at all so i dont need a crazy cooler.
I would like to find the most cost effective way to run it very silent.

Would you happen to know how loud the standard amd cooler is in db just so i could compare when looking into finding another cooler.

Would passive cooling with no fan be an option? Thanks alot

I was looking at this http://www.tigerdirect.ca/applications/SearchTools/item-details.asp?EdpNo=3299696&CatId=493

which states 22dba but im not sure how much noise that is.

Coolermaster aren't known for their quiet products, I can assure you. What I use is a Thermalright Ultra-120A heatsink with no fan, and it works pretty well. However, you can easily stick a 120mm fan on it and get much better cooling performance with no noise. They don't fit in all cases, however, and if that's the case with yours then I'd recommend the Ultra-90 or the Scythe Ninja Mini.
