I just checked my bank account and some slimy low-life piece of shit motherfucker got my cc# and charged my account. I have no idea how the son of a bitch got my number because I only deal with a very few online retailers who I've done business with for years.

I called the number listed on my statement and get nothing but busy signals so I go to the website listed, e-zsoft.com, and it's some web-design site but get this - there's a link that says "What is e-zsoft billing me for?" and when I click it my browser pops up a security warning saying that the security certificate doesn't match the url. So I googled the website and it comes up with nothing - the website doesn't exist. If I could get my hands on this bumhole I'd beat every last tooth out his ugly fuckin' head and put a goddam bullet through it. I've got some .45 hollowpoints with this sorry motherfucker's name on them. No I got a better idea - I'd shoot his legs full of holes and then dump gas on the sonofabitch and torch him. Tape record his dying screams and then upload to the net for every other sorry ass scammer to listen to.

Then it gets better! I call my bank to shut down my account and get some dumb broad on the line who talks so low in a monotone voice I can't understand a fuckin' thing she's saying. I told her I was hard of hearing and the stupid sow won't speak up - I had to aks her to repeat every goddam thing she said. Dumb cunt.

I'm so pissed right now I need to find some smartass and beat his ass to the ground to work this out of my system.

I'm not normally a violent person.

Now I dint know you but you but reading through some of your posts you appear to have your head screwed on the right way and c/c security would be fairly basic stuff for you. So what hope does someone like myself have of keeping it secure(It took me 9 months to realise I hadnt signed the back of mine) and free of scammers as you put it. Is there any gauranteed safe way to use my c/c on line?

Unfortunately, nothin is secure. In most cases, common sense and gut feelings will keep you oki... then there's always paranoia...

That's what gets me. I'm very selective about where I'll do business online. If I can't find them listed on resellerratings.com, I won't order from them.

I make it a habit to not leave my cc# stored on anyone's server "for my later convenience."

I need to have drchips check out that site.

Do a whois search on them and you find the domain was just created 2 months ago. You should be able to find more info about them there as well.

    http://www.networksolutions.com/en_US/whois/index.jhtml

Another possibility is that your credit card # was stolen through conventional means - someone going through your trash for receipts or bills. I would invest in a shredder just in case.

A scam I used to see a lot when I lived overseas was double swiping your card when paying at a restaurant or shop. They would make several impressions of your card then bring the card back with the receipt for you to sign. Then they would trace your own signature from the signed receipt back over the additional copies they had made. To prevent this, never let your card out of your sight - don't give it to a waiter to pay the bill and let him walk off with it.

A more 'traditional' incinerator works well also! :)

Thanks Xian :) I'm "net-tarded" so I appreciate the link.

I have a shredder and always use it. I'm going to the bank right now to get a new card issued and it's safe to say that I'm going to be in "ultra paranoid mode" from now on and pay with cash at restaurants.

I work in Card Fraud for a UK Bank. You would be suprised how much of it goes on. I mean the bastards are even slipping some sort of reader into cashpoint machines now, which clones your card and logs your PIN number.

They then transfer that to a blank card and magnetic strip and bobs your uncle.

They're doing away with signing strips too slowly and you have to use your pin in shops etc but it aint gonna work that well in my opinion.

There was a report on the news about people putting number loggers in cash machines. They even wear official looking uniforms when they service the machines. Only use ATMs from a bank!
