Hi, I have a Sony Ericsson W800i which shows the 'Inactive Sim' message when i put in a sim card. I have tried several different sim cards, but still the problem hasnt been solved.
    Can anyone help me?

I had a similar problem last year with my w800i. But later I found out that my sim connector was faulty. The middle connector was slightly chipped and rusty.

You may experience this problem if you recently dropped your phone or if its been water damaged. Re-flashing the software on your phone may also solve the problem.

Thank you for answering my question, I asked a few phone shops and they said that if it says inactive sim then it means that the phone hass been reported stolen and can only be used abroad in countries such as pakistan etc. I will try the procedure you told me and hope it will work
    Thank you very much

Yes, its also a possibilty the network provider has blocked your phone. Which means it can work mostly anywhere in asia and africa. But its worth getting your sim connector checked... peace.
