After many months of successfully backing up DVDs using DVD Decrypter then DVD Shrink then Pinnacle Instant CD/DVD on my Pioneer Rewriter,I have recently started encountering problems. The burn reaches around 90% then comes up with a Incompatable Format Error message. I've tried using DVD Decrypter to write them but this had the same problem.
The only thing different is that I recently added a Western Digital 250 GB external hard drive which I re formatted to NSTC. It was when I started saving files to this that the problem first occured , but now I also have problems when I save to my internal hard drive. Can anyone advise?

You mean your formatted the external drive to NTFS?

Don't know why you're getting the error but if adding the drive was the last thing you changed, take it off and see if the problem goes away.
First part of any diagnostic is to get the location of the problem. Can't fix it if you don't know where it is.

Yes I meant NTFS. I've now unplugged it, reinstalled Pinnacle, added updates and rebooted the computer - and there is still a hardware error! Any other thoughts would be appreciated.
