    Hi,

I was just wondering if I can possibly increase the rate my cpu fan is running at? At the moment its at 2650~ rpm BUT im pretty sure that it said on the packaging it can reach like 4500rpm.
The fan is currently connected to the mobo but I tink ive read that if connected directly to the PSU then full speed can be achieved, any comments supporting that?
If thats the case, how would I go about hooking that up?

    Thanx,

What motherboard are we talking about here? There are features on some mobos that will lower the fan's speed when the CPU is running at idle.

to make it reach 4500 rpm you probably need a fan controller like this

using a fan speed controller allows you to get your fans running at there maximum speed.

usually though with cpu coolers the fan should run at maximum speed all the time espescially if its connected direct to the mobo.
