Hello everyone, I bought a Flashed Xbox360 around 7 months ago. I have downloaded several games for it and it seems to be working perfectly. I have even been able to play Xbox Live without any problems with the Console. However recently I have not been able to download any games because on the torrent comments I always read "Requires you to update your firmware to iXtreme 1.4". Now I did download a game and burn it to a DL-DVD and it didn't work on my Xbox so I know for a fact that I do not have that specific version of iXtreme. That been said I want to clarify to everyone that I do not have any prior knowledge of how to mod or anything related to modding. I bought my xbox pre-flashed so it wasn't even me who flashed it in the first place. However seeing as majority (if not all) games that have been coming out recently required me to have iXtreme 1.4 I all of a sudden need to teach myself the tricks of the trade. And I have had VERY good help regarding a simmilar PSP issue in the past so I thought I would return to the friendly and skilled people of afterdawn. Now on to business: First of all, I read through the Ultimate sticky topic but it doesnt not seem to have any information about how to update to iXtreme 1.4. Can someone point me in the right direction for knowledge on what I need to do. Secondly, I do not know which kind of mod (i believe there are several) my xbox 360 currently have. Is there anyway of identifying that? Thanks in advance for any help! PS: I will most probably use this thread if possible to seek help if I run into any other speed bumps which I in all likely hood will.
you dont want 1.4. you want 1.6 if you have anything other than a hitachi, if you have a hitachi, then you want 1.51. as to how to update it, just read the jungleflasher tutorial for whichever drive you have.
And is there anyway I can detect if its a hitachi I have or something else? Or do I have to open up the Xbox itself?
I have now been able to confirm that my xbox has a toshiba-samsung drive. So that means I need a 1.6 iXtreme version correct? Any special guide that applies to that drive specifically?

Yeah. Shame there isn't sort of Ultimate sticky of some sort. Sack the mods! There should be a Ultimate Sticky, that should be read straight after some rules!
