I've just come accross some inforamtion and i didnt know if it would be useful into the banning and playing games before the release date gets you banned. firstly I'm now working with a video games company and they get games early all the time I've had the new COD black ops since Tuesday and all the companies send each other there games, a guy i work with got sent dead rising 2 about 2 weeks before it was out, now you can play online because there is loads of people on COD black ops since Tuesday. now there are legit versions of the game just with "promotion copy" written on the box, now i don't know if this information is useful just when the whole banning thing was going on people were saying it was because of playing games early. so hope this helps and can be useful
but how would they know if you were playing an a backup instead of from an original? from what I understand blackops is not ap 2.5
if your game is not an ap2.5 title and it is stealthed correctly with correct splitvid and you have LT fw then they wont know if it is a backup or orig. and that is true for either dash (i say that cause now we can be flagged offline for sure with kinect and ap2.5) if its an ap2.5 title on kinect dash then they can see it is not a original. non ap2.5 titles just need correct stealth and splitvid correct with LT firmware.
is this the general consensus, an opinion, or a fact? I'm just wondering its silly to not wait till the official release of blackops to play it I guess if you want to be safe, but I keep hearing about how if its a legit copy you're fine, I just don't understand the reasoning behind statement without any sort of evidence.
I use to think that once you played a game before it was release that you what be banned. Isn't that so?
IF you were around last year, this was an issue. They did ban users that did NOT have modded firmware but played games early. These were the companies that got games early and played them.
Ok just a quick update I was at a game release this week and at the end of the night a copy of the game was given to one of the main guys from the games company and he said when he was given the game can I play this now or will I get banned and the other said email me your gamertag and you shouldn't. Now it was a real copy of the game just with a yellow banner saying promo on it. Now do u think this means anything?
if its a legit copy and you got it from a reliable official source then no you wont. and if he said yo give him your GT i would do it cause that will make sure you dont get banned. in some cases promo copies can be tracked as they are different than the retail copy so i would for sure get your GT to the guy so he can add it to the list of people authorized to play that disc
