Info on The Box-T

    Hi guys,
    On the aerial ch**us system, (Kildare Ireland), will my box-t still work if I no longer have subscription but still have the ch**us aerial.
    Thanks any advice appreciated.

    No it wont... you need to subscribe to a basic package!

    Thanks for that however just curious, how do they cut you off if the areial is still there, is there something else(another device) inside the house that they can cut signal to.

    As far as I know its the same as sky they can simply cut your feed from the main antenna that feeds your ariel....technology what!!

    Providing you still have the downconvertor and power insertor.

    hi lads,
    Just connected my box-t. Downloaded the software and tried to tune in the channels, only getting one or two, any suggestions, ready to rip my hair out

    Have a look at Celt's guide here it covers all the Starview models. Follow the guide, you will find the firmware and loader for the Box T in Eamos

    Thanks, I downloaded the loader and software, sent them to the box, the box found 123 channels some were named, only setanta ireland is working, this was the first channel on the list

    Is the key emu on? Menu, type 1570 on remote and check it. Put it on Sly Sports and let it update, may take a minute or two.

    Does anybody know what a down convertor and power insertor is? (On the ch**us aerial system). Are these units like a decoder unit?? or are they part of the aerial?? where is down convertor and power insertor located indoors or outdoors??
    Thanks I've no experience with this aerial set-up.
    P.S. Box-T is flashed .

    The downconvertor is part of the aerial that you say you still have. The power insertor is a black box probably behind your TV. A cable runs from this to your TV and also up to the aerial.
