Hi, I just bought a modded Xbox 360. I read the forums for topics about Xbox Live bans but its not very informational regarding what happens when you get banned. Basically my question is, if you get banned, can you still play games offline? Does it only ban your ability to go online and play? Secondly... does one kind of a chip have a bigger chance of getting banned as compared to some other? For example how big is the chance of me getting banned when i have an IXTREME chip in my box?

    Thanks in advance.

There's no such thing as an Ixtreme chip. The ixtreme is a FW that you can flash to your xbox 360 dvd drive in order to play burnt copies of games. Do a little research on this forum by checking the bold sticky topics at the top of the forum.

And the answer to the banning question is also there but I'll just state the main point. If you get banned, you're banned from the xbox live service period. No game updates, no dashboard updates, nothing having to do with the xbox live service on that console. You can take your gamertag to another console and log in but that console is out on it's ass as far as xbox live is concerned. But it doesn't prevent you from playing games.
