How can I input a dvd into the computer through the tunner box which has s-video,composite and component access??? The DVD plays in all of my stand alone, players but won't play in computer's dvd drive I am looking for directions on how to hook it up. Is this a possibility? Also I have analog tapes VHS I want to enter into the computer??? How can this be connected? Are there directions provided somewhere?
Well if your tuner box has a chip for copy protection then the only thing that you will be able to convert is a home video to your computer most likely as an AVI file.Your VHS machine should hook up to the box with the S-video or analog RCA jacks then it should have a USB or firewire off the tuner that plugs to the computer.Or try a capture card or a video card with VIVO capabilities. Is that what you meant?
It is home video and I have all the connections, but what controls in the media center 2005 in the notebook hp8020 do I need to use to be able to see and save?? Where are the directions for this kind of use?
I would just use nero it will recognize your capture card and you can capture your home video to AVI.I would also use the Nero Vision Express with the latest update.Run a S-video cable to your computer and change the setting to S-video to get your screen and run a mini Y adapter to line in on the sound card and plug the rca jacks on the vcr audio jacks.I don't have windows media center on my computer so I don't know how it works exactly.
